Energotrans, a.s. – Reconstruction of HV switchgear for Prague
In 2024, the company I&C Energo successfully implemented and completed the project „ Reconstruction of HV switchgear for Prague „ in the premises of the Mělník Power Plant. The switchgear powers the motors of the circulation pumps for the thermal supply of heat to Prague.
The scope of the project included the dismantling of existing SR-VF type HV switchgear, delivery and installation of new UNIGEAR ZS1 switchgear from ABB, consisting of 34 panels, and the preparation of project documentation.
The implementation of this project involved disconnecting the existing control and power cables, performing construction modifications for the installation of the new switchgear, assembling the new switchgear panels, and reconnecting the existing HV and control cables. Before energizing the switchgear, it was integrated with the investor’s existing control systems, including the delivery and installation of the necessary hardware and modifications of the existing software.
Due to the requirement for uninterrupted heat supply, the dismantling and installation were carried out in two phases, always maintaining power to one half of the switchgear in order to ensure the supply of a sufficient number of circulation pumps.
The switchgear assembly was implemented by our employees in the presence of an ABB supervisor. All calculations and protection settings were performed by ABB.
