Reconstruction of the CO2-Based Fixed Firefighting System at the Temelín NPP
The subject of the project is the modernization of the existing fixed firefighting system (FFS) using CO2 gas and includes the complete replacement of the FFS motor rooms with CO2 systems and the associated pipe distribution network.
The modernization of the existing systems will ensure long-term safe and reliable performance of all functions, particularly improving the reliability, safety, and efficiency of the firefighting system, as well as protecting personnel, technology, and assets in the event of a fire.
Between 2025 and 2027, the existing CO2-based fixed firefighting system will be replaced with a system using inert gas. This replacement will involve the delivery of all required supplies, works, and services, including necessary modifications, preparation of complete documentation, and testing of the required parameters.
As part of the project, the contractor will also make adjustments to the EPS system, including modifications to the software and hardware of the EPS control system. These adjustments primarily involve initiating detection zones based on different physical principles to eliminate false activation, changing the transmission of binding information between the FFS and the EPS, and adding new information to the EPS (particularly FFS control panel failure, loss of 220 VAC, and agent leakage).
