Replacement compound and excitation transformers for the Temelín NPP

I&C Energo has won a public contract for the supply and implementation of replacement 1.2GV, GW, GX compound and excitation transformers for the excitation set that is part of the diesel generator set (DGS). It is a derivative excitation system with current compounding and automatic voltage regulation.

The DGS excitation set provides the following functions:

• Diesel generator excitation
• Continuous regulation of the stator voltage of the DGS at different loads
• Operating and emergency DGS de-excitation
• Equalizing the DGS voltage with the self-consumption network voltage
• DGS rotor winding overvoltage protection
• DGS protection in case of generator short circuit.
