On Thursday, 10 April 2025, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Lukáš Vlček, paid an official visit to the headquarters of I&C Energo a.s. in Třebíč. He was accompanied by the Chairman of the Board of the District Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Petr Šmejkal.

The central topic of the disscussion with the representatives of I&C Energo was the planned construction of a new nuclear power source (NJZ) in Dukovany. In this context, I&C Energo is engaged in negotiations with the Korean consortium, primarily concerning potential participation in the supply of electrical systems, instrumentation and control systems ( I&C systems), field instrumentation, low-current systems (Electric fire alarm system (EPS), Electronic security systems (EZS), CCTV, Technical system of physical protection (TSFO), etc.), piping and steel structures.

Minister Vlček expressed his firm belief that the Energy Performance Contract (EPC) between ČEZ and KHNP is likely to be signed within a matter weeks. He also reaffirmed that the Ministry of Industry and Trade remains committed to ensuring that the Korean partner upholds its promise of substantial involvement of Czech suppliers in the EDU II project.

In the concluding part, attention was also given to Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), with a particular focus on the participation of Czech companies in the preparation and implementation of the SMR project led by Rolls-Royce/ČEZ, both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
